Drawn to a career in lending from his love for numbers and enthusiasm for problem-solving, Andrew Marquis found his dream job as a senior loan officer at Guaranteed Rate. A former investment advisor, Marquis applies insights from his previous career to provide clients with a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage industry.

“I never thought of myself as a salesman, but I excel at recommending the best mortgage products available,” says Marquis, noting that more than half of his business comes from jumbo lending. “With each situation being a different challenge, I’m constantly on my toes and able to obtain satisfaction through solving these challenges day in, day out.”

Over his 16 years in the industry, Marquis has developed a reputation for outstanding customer service, prioritizing constant communication with his clients and professional development through education. In 2018, Marquis closed 683 units totaling $304 million, earning him fourth place on the Scotsman Guide’s nationwide list of Top Mortgage Originators and third place in purchase volume alone. His team ranks second nationwide at Guaranteed Rate.

“What I find most enjoyable and inspirational about mortgage banking is that each and every transaction is unique,” he says. “I have the ability to make a major impact in a family’s life by helping them acquire one of their largest assets.”

On the side, Marquis is an avid athlete, participating in charity events such as the Pan- Mass Challenge. He is a husband and father of two children and, along with his family, strives to live each day to the fullest.
