Buying a home is a huge milestone in anyone’s life, and Shant Banosian, Senior Vice President at Guaranteed Rate, is passionate about helping people achieve the dream of home ownership. “It’s generally life’s biggest purchase. Being a part of it is something I am honored and take great pride in,” he said.

In 2016, Banosian was one of the top five loan originators in the entire U.S. by closed volume. With 1,136 closed units and $434.5 million in funded loans in 2016 alone, he was Guaranteed Rate’s No. 1 loan officer nationwide. “Breaking $400 million in closed volume was a big goal of mine,” he said, adding that his biggest business accomplishment of past year was increasing production while still improving both service and loan quality. “We were able to increase our loan production, while at the same time grow our team and improve our service level and communication with our clients,” he says.

On any given day, Banosian will work with first-time homebuyers, clients buying luxury homes, investors and people looking for second homes. His 15 years of experience and ability to solve problems before they arise have been instrumental to his success. “I know my underwriting guidelines and loan programs inside and out. This eliminates a lot of stress on my clients and Realtor partners. It has also earned me a great reputation among my Realtor partners and their community in general,” he said.

A Massachusetts native, Banosian became a loan officer at a regional lender after graduating from Bentley University and has worked in the mortgage industry since then. He is a member of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, and supports many charities and causes including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Guaranteed Rate Foundation and Rotary Club of Watertown.

Banosian loves spending time with his wife and two daughters in Belmont, and enjoys rooting for New England sports teams.
