Rachel E. Lake
Senior Mortgage Advisor
Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation
Rachel E. Lake, Senior Mortgage Advisor at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, views her work as so much more than a business. “At the end of the day, it is the human experience,” she says. “Seeing that my efforts have an impact on people’s lives is what has kept me engaged and excited about my work for so many years.”
For 12 years, Lake has harnessed her grit and tenacity to reach the top of her industry. While she focuses on clients in greater Boston area and its immediate suburbs, she is licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and she provides financial expertise to an array of buyers, developers and investors. “About 75 percent of my business is in the condo market around Boston,” she explains, adding that many of her clients are couples and young families searching for their first or second condo in the city, or growing families trading in their city life for the suburbs.
When Lake first joined Fairway’s Boston office almost two years ago, she brought along her desire to maintain the positive and service-first reputation. Now with Fairway’s support, she’s able to expand her reach and create a greater vision for growth. In 2016, she won the Fairway Club award for her production, and for the past three years she’s been named a Five Star Professional, an award based on anonymous feedback from clients that is presented to only 3 percent of the mortgage professionals in the Boston area. “The most common feedback I get is that I am very accessible, I make the process transparent, and provide excellent guidance and education throughout,” says Lake.
Along with her position as a mortgage loan officer, Lake is also a real estate investor and owns several rental properties. She recently completed her first total gut renovation on a single-family home in Boston. “I now have the home rented out to a young couple, and seeing them build a life and enjoy this property that I worked so hard to transform is truly gratifying,” she says.
Lake is a member of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, Business Networking International and ProVisors. She also actively supports the American Warrior Initiative. Lake has two rescue dogs and loves to spoil her six nieces and nephews.
