Esq. Managing Partner
Alavi + Braza, P.C.
Real estate closing attorney Ali Alavi understands how emotional the business of real estate can be. For the past 15 years, he has guided clients through the process of buying, selling, refinancing, investing or converting an existing home into condos. “I try to put problems that arise into perspective for my clients and show them the big picture,” said Alavi, Esq. Managing Partner of Alavi + Braza, P.C., which he founded with managing partner and his wife, Gina Braza. “By doing so, I am able to manage their emotions and effectively manage their expectations. After all, the goal is an effortless transaction that closes successfully for the benefit of everyone involved!”
With two offices — one in Boston and the other in Milford — decades of combined experience in real estate, and a deep understanding of the industry, Alavi + Braza, P.C. has become a leader in Boston’s real estate market. “This past year we were able to successfully retool our work flow to make it more technologically friendly, safe and efficient. We would not be able to do it without the dedication and commitment of our staff!” he says. Their other accomplishments this year included assisting a real estate holding company to restructure its debt and refinance its multimillion dollar portfolio. Banker & Tradesman nominated Alavi + Braza, P.C for Best Commercial Real Estate Closing Attorney and Best Residential Real Estate Law Firm in its Best of 2017 reader poll.
Before Alavi was in the legal industry, he worked as a scientist. “I was in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry doing research until I realized I could bridge the gap between science and law by becoming an intellectual property attorney,” he says. Alavi attended law school in the evenings and ultimately landed a job at the big firms in Boston. “My passion was in real estate and my wife, Gina, persuaded me to make the change, which has been the best thing I have ever done to date!” he says. “To play a part in people’s joy when they’re purchasing a property and accomplishing a critical cornerstone of the American Dream is simply amazing and rewarding.”
Alavi is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association and Greater Boston Association of Realtors. He supports several charities throughout Massachusetts, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and HomeStart, a nonprofit organization in Boston that helps prevent homelessness. He also enjoys playing poker and traveling around the world with Gina experiencing new cultures, customs and food.
