In 2025, Shant Banosian was appointed president of Rate Mortgage. He has been ranked the No. 1 loan officer in the United States for eight years running, and over his 20-year career, he’s funded over $10 billion in loans, thanks in part to a 95% client-retention rate achieved through client referrals and word of mouth.

Banosian grew up in Watertown and graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He currently lives in Belmont with his wife and three daughters. Outside of work, Banosian stays involved with his community and works with Boston Children’s Hospital, The Greater Boston Food Bank and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
