Greystar and Haseko North America will begin vertical construction on 100 West Street, a 189-unit multifamily development in Needham. A groundbreaking ceremony on May 7 will celebrate the project.
Needham’s newly established zoning under the MBTA Communities Act made the development possible, and it will be one of the largest projects to break ground under the new ordinances, according to a press release.
The community’s mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will meet Passive House standards. These benchmarks, issued by a third party, require energy and airtightness measures that reduce a building’s energy footprint. Developers plan to deliver 100 West Street in fall 2027.
