National home remodeling company West Shore Home has entered the New England market, opening an office in Franklin. The business identified opportunity in the constrained market, according to a press release, citing homeowners’ willingness to spruce up existing homes instead of buying.
Median renovation spending in Greater Boston leapt from $15,000 to $24,000 between 2020 and 2023, West Shore said — so homeowners choosing to invest in their current properties amid a tight market may already be behind the trend.
The Franklin office marks West Shore Home’s first New England location. The Mechanicsburg, Penn.-based company was founded in 2006 and serves 40 markets across 22 states.
The new office will target Massachusetts as well as parts of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
“When we evaluate markets for expansion, we look at housing conditions and homeowner spending patterns,” said B.J. Werzyn, founder and CEO of West Shore Home. “Boston has exactly what we look for. Homeowners are investing heavily in their properties because much of the older housing stock needs renovation. Our highly trained employee installers, backed by our technology platform, deliver the speed and reliability that Boston homeowners deserve.”
