The Wareham Redevelopment Authority and Pennrose launched Swifts Landing, an affordable community in Wareham.

Developers created 10 two-story townhomes, a 49-unit family apartment building and a 44-unit building designated for seniors over 62. Many of the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are restricted for a range of incomes up to 100% of area median income.

The development highlights traditional New England architecture and features a town green and wooded walking paths.

Residents will have access to amenities like a fitness center, community garden and playground, as well as on-site wrap-around services.

The project was financed by MassHousing, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities and additional donors.

“We are excited to celebrate the creation of 93 new apartments in Wareham for the community’s seniors and families,” Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities Ed Augustus said in a press release. “Every new home that’s built with state support puts us one step closer to ending Massachusetts’ housing shortage.”
