No. 2 — Massachusetts town named the most expensive in the country 

Vineyard Haven, located on Martha’s Vineyard, topped LendingTree’s list of towns with the most expensive real estate in early October.

No. 3 — Boston one of the ‘World’s Best Cities’

Boston, America’s oldest big city, is among the best cities in the world, according to World’s Best Cities’ 2024 ranking of the most desirable cities on the planet. 

No. 4 — Cape Cod town named one of the best for first-time homebuyers

A December report found that despite cities in New England having higher housing costs, one Cape Cod community is breaking the stereotype. Barnstable, Massachusetts made the top 10 in ConsumerAffairs Research Team’s ranking of Best Cities for First-Time Homebuyers.

No. 5 — New affordable housing approved for Dorchester, Jamaica Plain

In May, the Boston Planning & Development Agency approved two new developments that will bring more than 180 new residences to Dorchester and Jamaica Plain. The two projects encompass 201,000 square feet combined and will create 181 residential units, 118 of which will be income-restricted.
