Residential project proposed next to Fenway church

by Liz Hughes

A developer is proposing the construction of two apartment buildings next to Fenway’s Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral on Park Drive.

Transom Real Estate and Harbor One Development filed a letter of intent with the Boston Planning & Development Agency on July 26 proposing the construction of two seven-story buildings with 111 residential units on a 60,753-square-foot parcel of land at 165 Park Drive. The church is located on the same parcel and will remain.

Located at the rear of the property, the project would allow for the long-term continued operations of the church, as well as repairs and landscape improvements to support the parish, while bringing affordable housing to the area, according to the filing.

A significant number of the apartments will be designated as income-restricted.
