Massachusetts is the smartest state in the country according to WalletHub’s 2021’s Most & Least Educated States in America report.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across 18 metrics examining educational attainment, school quality and achievement gaps between genders and races.
Massachusetts ranked number one in the highest percentage of bachelor’s degree holders, highest percentage of graduate- or professional- degree holders and highest average university quality.
Additionally, the report found Massachusetts has the highest school system rating at 21.70% (18.1% times higher than Montana which had the lowest at 1.20%).
The Bay State also has the highest share of bachelor’s degree holders age 25 and older at 43.70%, 2.1 times higher than West Virginia the state with the lowest at 20.60%.
