Agent Snapshot: Gabrielle Daniels Henken, Realtor, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Metrowest

gabrielletvWhat was your first job in the realty industry? Growing up as one of four daughters, real estate Attorney (Bruce Daniels) and Carole (my mom and, now, business partner) would pay me and my sisters every time she sold a house in exchange for total cooperation every time she was on the phone,I fared well!

Where did you grow up? Sudbury, Ma.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? What stress? I like to work out, relax by my pool, and I love a great spa.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Either an actress or a prosecutor.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Mark Cuban; I Love his business perspective and I know it would be a really entertaining lunch.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Anywhere warm and with my family.

What do you love most about the industry? That it’s constantly evolving. It’s never “Groundhog Day.”

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? We’re all different. I listen and read people/situations very well. My husband likes to say that I’m fluent in nonverbal cues. My pre-real estate professional experience is in sports and affiliate marketing, I have a great understanding of how to put a deal together that will make all parties happy.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? When clients are going through a tough time in their personal lives, it’s difficult for Carole and I not to truly feel their pain. Real Estate is an extremely personal business and we appreciate that.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? The majority of our business is from referrals, repeat business and our website, www.LiveInSudburyMA.com.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Personally, my children. Professionally, I moved to Japan for a year to work on the 1998 Nagano Olympics without knowing any Japanese or anyone in Japan.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Concussion,” Will Smith should have been nominated for an award.

What is your favorite restaurant? Two Fools & A Bull in Aruba.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? Boston Harbor Hotel/Rowes Wharf.

What kind of car do you drive? A Mercedes GL450.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Boston? Tokyo.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Truly listen and be motivated by client satisfaction rather than money.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? One I’m working on inventing.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I love @crazyjewishmother and my very cool and funny stepson who has asked not to have his twitter handle printed.
