Students from Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) participated in the 2016 Residential Construction Management Competition (RCMC), a national student competition that takes place every year at the International Builder’s Show in Las Vegas. This year, students improved their ranking to 16th out of 34, 10 places higher than last year’s results.
Executive members of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) accompanied the students at the show.
The RCMC gives students opportunities to apply the skills they have learned in class to a real construction situation. This is done by finishing a management/proposal project and presenting it to the audience. Drew Sylvia, the team’s founder, was awarded the NAHB Outstanding Student of the Year Award.
Sylvia spoke of his appreciation for the NAHB award.
“It is an honor to receive the NAHB Outstanding Student of the Year Award, and I am proud to have the opportunity to represent WIT at the RCMC over the past two years,” he said.
