What was your first job in the realty industry? I joined Hammond Real Estate in Harvard Square in 1999. Still here!
Where did you grow up? Suburban Detroit.
Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a school teacher – and I became one! I found my way into real estate thereafter.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Take a walk!
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? James Taylor. I have always admired him and his work, and I imagine he is quite down to earth. I actually met him once on Martha’s Vineyard and he was very relaxed!
Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love Cambridge and Somerville. I also love being on the beach in Florida or the caribbean.
What do you love most about the industry? No two days are the same! Being self-employed.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Pricing properties in a hot market is a challenge!
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I find that new clients find me, many online!
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Commitment to being in the present moment.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Just about to finish Elizabeth George’s series of novels featuring Inspector Lynley.
What is your favorite restaurant? I enjoy Toscano in Harvard Square.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? Hancock Tower.
What kind of car do you drive? VW Tiguan. My first new car in 10 years! Love it!

What is your favorite city after Boston? Paris, France.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Believe in yourself. Work hard. Pay attention. Get online.
