Phillip MacArthurWhat was your first job in the realty industry? My broker, Nick Warren, hired me at the agent of 19 as a sophomore in college. I generated business in my first couple of years as a rental agent.

Where did you grow up? In “always-sunny” Rockport, Massachusetts!

Growing up, what did you want to be? Easy question – a professional golfer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Work, golf and hike.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be? Warren Buffett or Tiger Woods.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Any 19th hole or on the Boston Harbor.

What do you love most about the industry? I enjoy meeting and talking with new people. Also, having gone through purchasing a home before, I know how important it is to have a solid real estate agent representing your best interests; and I enjoy having that pressure on me to follow through.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am a tech-savvy, Millennial real estate agent that built my business off “old school” techniques that are often now overlooked, such as, being educated in the market, having a strong understanding of each facet of a transaction and being a reliable person.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Never wanting to stop working!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Nowhere in particular. I just like striking up good conversation.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Selling a $1.6m condo in the Seaport District at 20 years old and being selected to the BHHS National REthink Council.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “The One Thing” by Gary Keller.

What is your favorite restaurant? Santarpios in East Boston.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? The Residences at Pier 4. A new construction building that Tishman Speyer is developing with NYC architecture firm SHoP, in the Seaport District.

What kind of car do you drive? Mercury Milan.

Smartphone or paper? Paper.

What is your favorite city after Boston? Sedona, Ariz.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Never get down on yourself.
