Agent Snapshot: Brandon Foley, Sales Agent, Goodrich Residential, Boston

Brandon FoleyWhat was your first job in the realty industry? I was an associate for a creative real estate startup in South Florida before relocating back home to Massachusetts and working at Goodrich Residential.

Where did you grow up? Charlton, Mass.

Growing up, what did you want to be? A firefighter.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I take my dog, Gracie, for a walk on the Harborwalk.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? On the boat, a few miles out of the city in the Harbor, looking back at the skyline. Putting this small city into an even smaller perspective from a few miles away on the water is something you have to see to appreciate.

What do you love most about the industry? Every day is different! While the idea is to stick to a schedule and routine is commonplace, it’s exciting that every day is different than the next and you never know who you’ll meet or what the day will bring.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I strive to offer a full range of real estate services to buyers and sellers. Meaning that when the topic of buying or selling comes up, I have a team of mortgage professionals, attorneys, inspectors and other people that I am able to recommend and tailor to each client. These are people that you can literally text at midnight the night before closing and still get a response in minutes.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The unknown – which is also one of the most exciting aspects. The market, regulations, inventory, demand, everything changes at a moment’s notice and balancing all of that can be difficult at times.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? The North End dog park has been a go-to spot ever since moving to the neighborhood.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Setting the all time price per square foot record in an emerging market ( Jeffries Point of East Boston).

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Spotlight.

What is your favorite restaurant? Pier 6, Charlestown.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? Trinity Church in Back Bay.

What kind of car do you drive? Audi A4.

Smartphone or paper? Both! I have a yellow legal pad within arms reach at all times, but also have a pretty close relationship with Siri.

What is your favorite city after Boston? Savannah, Ga.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Listen, watch, absorb and be relentless.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Genius Scan, for quickly scanning pages into pdf’s on the passenger seat of the car.
