Although Peggy Pratt shows the successful and sometimes glamorous side of real estate on her social media platforms, she is adamant that “this is a tough career choice full of grunt work, rejection and roller-coaster-filled moments.”
As a child, Pratt always dreamed of owning her own home. In 1996, she became licensed, initially working in real estate as a side gig. She started out in rentals and closed her first transaction at age 21, when she purchased a home for herself.
Twenty-eight years later, she still assists first-time buyers and investors seeking single-family homes, condos and multi-unit properties in the greater Boston area and the North Shore, with help from her five-person team. The team gives her purpose as she elevates others and has more time for herself and her children, Josh, 26; Sophia, 19; and JJ, 17. Her most-rewarding sale in 2024 was helping Josh, who used to ride around with her in his carseat when she began, purchase his first home, a multi-family dwelling in Everett.
Pratt serves on the board of directors for MLS Pinergy and the Massachusetts Housing Coalition, as well as serving as a national board director for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). Since 2018, she has ranked among NAHREP’s top 250 members in the nation by volume, and her team is currently the No. 3 Century 21 team in the state. She is also a yearly recipient of the Centurion award, an honor that only 4% of all Century 21 agents receive. She also hosts a podcast, “Sin Permiso-A Latina Lifestyle podcast,” which highlights hard-working entrepreneurs.
