Keira Gibson, Attorney

Kajko, Weisman & Colasanti, LLP

Real estate was never the plan for Keira Gibson. Fresh out of law school 15 years ago, she was set on a career in family law, but once she started to learn the practice of real estate law and grew into negotiating agreements and having her own clients, she found she loved being part of someone’s homeownership journey.

Licensed in Massachusetts and Connecticut, Gibson receives many referrals from real estate agents. “I think one reason they like to work with me is that they know I value their role in the transaction,” Gibson explains. “They are the architect of the transaction, and the clients have placed all of their trust with them.”

Gibson takes the time to understand her clients’ circumstances so she can best serve them. For example, buyers may have been searching for months or are making their first offer. Sellers may be letting go of a longtime family home due to death or divorce. “It’s technically not necessary for me to understand if they have lost out on five other houses or are moving here from out of state to start a new career, but those details are everything for the clients,” Gibson shares.

Named among Massachusetts’ Rising Star Super Lawyers for five years running, Gibson is also a member of the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers. She says her favorite thing to hear clients say at the end of a transaction is that it felt easy and was nothing like the horror stories they were warned about. For her, helping clients achieve their goal is the greatest reward, but first-timers hold a special place. “There is nothing quite like congratulating a first-time homebuyer at the end of a closing,” she says.
