While he’s known today for his expertise in guiding clients through mortgage applications, Bill Poirier began his professional life doing a different kind of “paperwork.” He had been working in commercial paper sales when an opportunity arose to join the mortgage business. Although the two industries were very different, Poirier made the leap into the new career and quickly found success as an expert in a much more valuable type of paper: preapproval letters and mortgage notes.

Today, Poirier has more than 30 years of home financing experience, and he is a senior loan officer at the Westborough branch of Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp. In 2021, he closed more than $85 million in home financing and was recognize by industry publication Scotsman Guide as one of the top mortgage originators in the nation.

Poirier’s approach to serving his clients is to provide clarity, education and comfort. “I schedule time to talk with every client so we can discuss the process in full,” he says. “I also send each client a personalized video, walking them through a total cost analysis of their specific transaction.” Thanks to his attentive and reliable approach, Poirier receives a steady stream of referrals from clients and partners who know they can count on him for exceptional advice, service and solutions.

From first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors, Poirier is adept at helping all types of borrowers. Having worked with individuals from all walks of life, he understands the importance of getting to know his clients and matching them with the right financing programs for their situations and goals.

After another successful year in 2021, Poirier has no shortage of goals and aspirations for the future. He hopes to serve over 400 clients every year, following the Rotary International organization’s credo of “Service Above Self,” and to continue adding talented mortgage professionals to his team.
