A new, 240-unit multi-family housing project is coming to Brighton. It was one of six new development projects approved by the Boston Planning & Development Agency at its January meeting.
The 250 Everett St. project will transform what is currently a parking lot and office space into a six-story residential building with 240 units. Forty-one of them will be income restricted, and they will be a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units. It will also have a new Bluebikes dock on site.
The project will have site improvements, including new landscaping and publicly accessible open spaces. Trees currently on the site will be preserved, while 90 new trees will be planted. The building will be all-electric.
The project will also bring area public improvements, including creating publicly accessible sidewalks along the northern and western edges of the site, as well as publicly-accessible open space.
It will contribute $75,000 to Boston’s Parks and Recreation Department to support maintaining parks in Allston and Brighton as well as $66,000 to the Boston Transportation Department in support of its bikeshare system.
