New luxury Back Bay residence opens for occupancy

by Liz Hughes

A newly constructed luxury residence at 212 Stuart St. is open to residents.

Located at the intersection of Back Bay and Bay Village, 212 Stuart St. is Greystar Real Estate Partners’ first ground-up development in Boston.

The previously vacant lot now houses a 19-story building with more than 1,200 square feet of ground-floor retail with state-of-the-art amenities and services.

The project was developed in collaboration with Sasaki, Höweler + Yoon and Elizabeth Stuart Design.

Gary Kerr, managing director of development at Greystar, called 212 Stuart St. a “groundbreaking addition to Boston’s skyline, ready to meet the evolving needs of current and future residents with best-in-class amenities.”

The building is a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom and townhome-style apartments from 500 to 2,100 square feet. Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a fully equipped fitness center, a yoga studio, bike storage, a lounge area, a library, a rooftop terrace with outdoor dining and entertainment space, pet spa and more. Each unit also has floor-to-ceiling windows, custom Italian cabinets, Bosch appliances, smart-home technology and designer fixtures.

“Developing a new residential community in an established neighborhood like this is a very unique opportunity, and we are thrilled with the outcome of the development,” he said. “This project maintains the distinctive character of its surroundings while increasing attractive housing and retail options. We are greatly appreciative of our partners, the city of Boston, and, of course, the Bay Village neighborhood in helping us reach this milestone.”
