Boston named a best place to be a real estate agent

by Liz Hughes

Boston has made the list of best places to be a real estate agent, and in today’s market, that’s no easy feat.

Boston ranked No. 19 on WalletHub’s 2021’s Best Places to Be a Real Estate Agent list. Seattle took the top spot.

Following months of high demand and low inventory, more sellers are returning to the market. Homes are selling faster than ever, even as prices hit an all-time high and are expected to grow even higher, making it a great market for agents.

It’s no surprise real estate agents in Boston have one of the highest median annual wages on the list, making it one of the best cities for agents in the U.S..

Boston also ranked No. 4 for job opportunity and competition and 145th for real estate market health. Beantown also tied nearby Nashua, N.H., for the fifth spot for the highest median annual wage for real estate agents.

WalletHub compared more than 170 cities across 22 key indicators from sales per agent to the annual median wage for agents to the housing market health index.
