3 Boston gift ideas to sustain long-term client relationships

One of the most important steps in the agent-client relationship comes at the very end of the transaction – the final token of appreciation. By going above the call of duty and truly showing how much you appreciate your client’s business, you go a long way in earning a client for life (and hopefully plenty of referral business.)

What’s the best way to show that appreciation? For those of you who are tired of the cliche gestures, here are three local ideas to consider:

1. A Walk Through Independence – A 2.5-mile, 16-spot tour, the Freedom Trail does a great job encompassing the rich role Boston played in the American Revolution. Of course, many Greater Boston residents are well aware of the history of their fair city, but the guided tours are a great outing for families, particularly those with young children who are just learning their history.

2. A Creative Restaurant Experience – The Greater Boston area has a rich coastal culinary history, but its options aren’t limited to seafood. Consider sending your clients off the beaten path or recommending something that speaks to a specific interest. For instance, one of your clients may have mentioned an interest in Middle Eastern cuisine – why not treat them to a meal at Byblos Restaurant in Norwood, or Cafe Mangal in Wellesley?

3. Fine Cultural Attractions – When it comes to Boston and cultural attractions, the city provides a true embarrassment of riches that you can easily adapt to your client’s interests. For instance, a classical music lover would be right at home seeing the Boston Pops perform. A lover of fine art will no doubt appreciate the Museum of Fine Arts. For families, the Boston Children’s Museum is hard to beat. And for history buffs, you can complement the Freedom Trail with the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.
