Patrick J. Murphy IV, Esq., Partner

Harris & Murphy LLP

With 23 years in the industry, Patrick J. Murphy IV is a master of his craft and expert communicator. The lifelong Boston resident has worked in real estate law since law school, quickly falling in love with this sector of the legal field because of the joy it brings. “One of my favorite transactions was getting a single mother into the home of her dreams,” Murphy remembers. “Without helping her navigate through the various programs being offered, she would never have been able to buy it. It was my best ‘feel good’ transaction of the year.”

A member of the Real Estate Bar Association, Murphy specializes in residential and commercial real estate from the New Hampshire border down to the islands, and as far out as Worcester County. Representing a vast array of clientele, he is known for making complex ideas easy to understand and prides himself on the relationships that have led to his mostly-referral-based business. Having recently purchased and renovated a historic home, he notes, “Doing this project has helped me better explain the process to my clients and assist them with their own projects.”

Much of Murphy’s professional strength comes from his approachability, his network of equally skilled referral partners and in-house team members, and the care and guidance he provides long after the transaction. Equal parts jovial and detail-driven, he says his clients are always sufficiently prepared and supported, no matter the time of day.

When not working, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his kids, regularly attending their sporting events and taking them to college and professional events. Murphy also serves on the Town of Belmont Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Advisory Committee, is on the Belmont Youth Hockey Association Board and is an elected member of the Belmont Board of Assessors.
