The average monthly rent for a single-family home in Boston dipped during the third quarter, although costs remained high, according to new rental data from Dwellsy.
Renters in Boston paid an average of $3,372 for a three-bedroom, single-family home during the third quarter, marking a 4.7% decrease when compared to the same quarter last year. However, the dip did little to counteract Boston’s sky-high prices, which sit 73.4% above the national average of $1,945.
Average rental costs for a single-family home have been decreasing for four consecutive quarters. The market experienced a peak in 2023 and 2024, when average rents surpassed $3,500.
