Hemenway Construction Management celebrated construction progress on a 12-unit Roxbury development in a recent Instagram post. The 24 Westminster Ave. project will provide affordable housing, with half of the units reserved for families earning up to 80% of area median income and half for those earning up to 100% of AMI.
The project has reached the mechanical, electrical and plumbing phase, with completion expected in the fall. The three-story building will feature one-bedroom and three-bedroom townhouses and offer proximity to the Jackson Square and Stony Brook MBTA stations.
According to MassHousing, the homes will include private entrances, hardwood floors and in-unit laundry. Half-basements will provide additional storage space.
DREAM Development, the project’s architect, received $3.4 million in CommonWealth Builder funding. The Life Initiative provided $3.4 million in construction financing as well.
