Boston among nation’s most walkable cities

by Liz Hughes

Boston is among the nation’s most walkable cities, according to a new USA Today’s 10 Best Walkable Cities for Tourists in the U.S. report

These 10 cities, chosen by travel experts and voted on by readers for their walkability, provide numerous activities, dining options and accommodations, all linked by pedestrian-friendly streets.

Boston ranked sixth on the list and was noted for the walkability of several of its neighborhoods, including Beacon Hill, the North End, Back Bay and Harvard Square.

Philadelphia topped the list, followed by Providence, Rhode Island, and Key West, Florida. St. Augustine, Florida, took the No. 4 slot, and New Orleans rounded out the top five.
