Boston made the top 10 best tech hubs for living, according to a recent study.

Cloudward analyzed 100 cities across the United States to offer a “significant milestone in understanding the evolving landscape of the tech industry.” The company said it hopes these rankings will serve as a valuable resource for tech professionals seeking opportunities.

Each city was ranked across 17 key factors including IT salaries, cost of living, safety, internet quality, education and career prospects, innovation and community presence.

According to Cloudward, the study revealed that cities “surpassed expectations, challenging conventional trends.”

Cloudward CEO Mauricio Preuss said the importance of strategic career decisions in thriving tech hubs cannot be overstated.

“It’s crucial to consider factors like professional growth, community support and quality of life when choosing the right environment for your tech career,” he said. “This decision plays a significant role in nurturing expertise and achieving success in the ever-evolving tech landscape.”

New York City topped the list followed by Washington, D.C.; San Francisco; Plano, Texas; and Jersey City, New Jersey.

Boston took the No. 8 spot on the list with an overall score of 52.234. Beantown also took third place for innovation and entrepreneurship and seventh for career and education.

The city also ranked 29th for livability, 59th for internet coverage and quality and took the No. 22 spot for tech community.
