A new study commissioned by staffing firm Robert Half found that Boston is one of the best destinations for career-orientated professionals, coming in second on the list behind Seattle. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit (the group that conducted the study), Boston’s high salaries along with its quality of life led to its high ranking, which was among 25 other cities. The study factored in Boston’s overall cost of living, cultural diversity and career prospects to determine its ranking.
“Boston is an attractive job market for professionals, as it’s become a hub for technology, education and healthcare,” said Corey Adams, regional president for Robert Half in Boston, in a statement. “Add to that the quality of life, low unemployment rate, and rich culture and history of this city, and it becomes a very desirable spot for professionals to grow their careers.”
According to the study, Boston has the third-highest GDP per capita and the fifth highest median income out of the 25 cities ranked. However, Boston was also ranked as one of the most expensive places to live, ranked only behind Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
