Massachusetts’ Provincetown named friendliest small town in the U.S.

by Liz Hughes

One Massachusetts community has been named the friendliest small town in the U.S.

WorldAtlas named Cape Cod’s Provincetown the friendliest small town in the country. Located two hours south of Boston, what sets Provincetown apart from all others is that no matter how short your stay, “Provincetown locals will have you feeling right at home,” according to the report.

“This New England community has long been a popular tourist destination, but its appeal has truly blossomed in a post-pandemic world,” the report said. “With travelers craving authenticity and connection more than ever, Provincetown’s legacy of tolerance distinguishes it from other U.S. towns, helping all feel welcome here.

The publication noted the community for its “history of freedom,” popular events and thriving Commercial Street business district, not to mention its many beaches along the town’s 40 miles of coastline.
