A new project is slated to bring 30 new homes to a Brighton neighborhood.
Approved by the Boston Planning & Development Agency at its February meeting, the project at 358 Chestnut Hill Ave., will include 30 residential units, including five deemed income restricted.
The Chestnut Hill Avenue project site currently has a three-story commercial building on it with a convenience store on the ground floor and offices on the upper level with parking behind it.
The site is currently occupied by a three-story commercial building containing a ground-floor convenience store and upper-story offices, with rear surface parking.
Once complete, it will include a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units, as well as indoor and outdoor bike parking and ground-floor retail space.
The project will also contribute $8,250 to Boston’s bike share program.
Located within the Allston-Brighton Needs Assessment study area, adopted by the BPDA last month, the project meets community needs identified by the study by providing both transit-oriented housing and including income-restricted units.
The BPDA also approved a notice of project change for 3 Aspinwall Road to increase the size of the project and the number of units from a four-story building with 34 condominiums and 29 parking spaces to a five-story building with 45 condominiums with 29 parking spaces.
