The Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors has helped steer $6,000 in Massachusetts Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation grants to four local housing non-profit organizations, according to a CCIAOR press release.
The Nantucket Rental Assistance Program received $1,000 to assist in the program’s rental assistance to low-income residents. NRAP helps secure and pay for housing for renters in Nantucket.
Another $2,000 is going to Champ Homes which provides transitional housing for single men and women in Cape Cod. This will help supplement two fundraisers that were cancelled because of Covid-19.
Both Harwich Ecumenical Council for the Homeless and Vineyard House received $1,500. HECH’s goal is to combat homelessness for families living in Harwich and surrounding neighborhoods. Vineyard house offers housing for residents of Martha’s Vineyard recovering from alcohol or drug addiction. Rent for 25 sober residents has been supported by Vineyard House during the Covid-19 outbreak.
“It’s a core role of a Realtor to support the communities in which we live and work,” CCIAOR CEO Ryan Castle said in the press release. “The MAR Charitable Grants program is just one way in which we can give back and help our communities continue to be great, vibrant places to live and work by supporting the most vulnerable among us.”
