Three Boston suburbs are among the 10 “best cities for families” on the East Coast, according to a new report from Apartment List.
Basing its analysis on four disproportionately weighed data points – safety, housing affordability, education quality and child friendliness (prioritized in that order) – Apartment List determined that Newton, Quincy and Cambridge were great places to raise a family.
Newton, the area’s top market and No. 3 along the whole East Coast, received exceptional marks in safety and was the highest rated city in regards to education, scoring well above every other top 10 city; the second closet was Cambridge.
See our table below to see how the three suburbs compare:
Newton | Quincy | Cambridge | |
---|---|---|---|

There is a pretty wide range of housing options in Newton which is part of the appeal. Although, recently a single family home is not as affordable as it used to be.
