Joanna Schlansky shares the simple ways to keep in touch with past clients

1. Approximately a week after the closing, I email my clients to let them know that I was thinking of them, and wanted to check in to see how their move was and if there were any issues or concerns needed my follow up.

2. A couple of weeks later, I send the client some flowers to be delivered on a Saturday to welcome them to their new home. I follow up with an email to make sure they got them, and ask if they would post a review on me on Zillow; most all of them do, and I now have more than 105 reviews on the site.

3. I add my clients to my email database, and send them quarterly newsletters with real estate news and other tidbits; I also invite them to my business’ Facebook page. In addition, during the holiday season, I send all my clients holiday cards with a Starbucks gift card.

4. Another great way of keeping in touch with my clients is to host a client appreciation event. I host one every year, and usually get a great turn out. It is wonderful to see so many of my old and new clients, and catch up with them.

As they say it is much less expensive to build your business with satisfied past Clients than to create new relationships! I too keep in touch with my Clients on a regular basis, they are my best source of new business. Happy New Year!
