Massachusetts is the second-safest state in the United States, according to a new analysis from WalletHub.
Basing its study on 25 safety metrics, WalletHub rated Massachusetts highly in a number of areas; indeed, only Vermont outranked the Bay State.
In addition to its overall No. 2 rating, Massachusetts placed in the top five in the following metrics:
- Fewest fatalities per 100 millions vehicle miles of travel (No. 1)
- Lowest bullying-incidents rate (No. 3)
- Lowest share of population lacking health insurance (No. 1)
- Highest percentage of people with rainy day funds (No. 3)
- Fewest fatal occupational injuries per total employees (No. 1)
