In January, Niche, a website that ranks and reviews schools at every level of education, gave us the top high schools with the best teachers. This month, it’s the best private high schools.
In its 2016 Best Private High Schools in America list, the ranking and review site compiled stats on a number of different metrics, including top college scores, student culture and diversity and matriculation rates, to determine which schools, metro by metro, are “the best.” (Niche’s full methodology)
Education has always played an important role in how Boston defines itself as a city, and so it’s no surprise that the city’s No. 1 private school – Phillips Academy in Andover Town – also claimed the top spot nationwide. The school provides small class sizes; a nearly perfect matriculation rate; an A+ rating for the number of top colleges students are hoping to attend; and an A rating for student culture and diversity.
Also making the national top 10 is Boston No. 2 private high school Groton School.
