Boston was named as one of the country’s top five tech hot spots according to Homes.com.
Beantown sits comfortably at number five, establishing itself as one of the premier cities for technology creation – and the housing activity that accompanies the tech sector.
When one thinks of tech-savvy cities, it’s hard to not envision California and Silicon Valley; however, the West Coast no longer reigns supreme, as eight of the top 10 cities reside in non-Western cities.
Grant Simons, vice president of Homes.com thinks, a move westward is no longer needed for techy individuals to both thrive, and find their perfect home.
“Many areas exist outside of the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest where tech folks can find both their dream job and the home of their dreams,” Simmons said.
Cristina Callahan, the marketing manager at Streetwise Media, told Homes.com that she believes Boston has the perfect mixture of factors that make it prime for an uptick in buyers.
“Favorable policies at the state and local levels, and desirable livability standards, have all helped in various ways, as have local success stories,” Callahan said.
