Social media has transformed Valerie Wastcoat’s career. From watching her “Wastcoat Wednesday” posts featuring real estate tips, tennis talk and show merch, viewers are constantly commenting on her notable sales volume.
“I tend to be fun, but I have worked hard at showing that I am also knowledgeable and competent,” says Wastcoat, a top-producing, licensed Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty. She ranks among Coldwell Banker’s 2024 International President’s Elite (top 2%), Boston Magazine’s 2024 Top Agents, as well as being featured among Massachusetts’ top real estate agents on social media.
Wastcoat hyper-focuses on her hometown of Newton, where she was raised (her father co-founded the youth football & cheerleading organization Newton Pop Warner) and is now raising her own family. Wastcoat also extends her expertise to nearby communities.
She tends to represent sellers and buyers but has a passion for assisting clients through the complex process of doing both simultaneously. “Anything I can do to help clients with the process and have as little stress as possible is my goal,” she says. “They seem to appreciate those little things and that they can trust me to get the job done.”
Wastcoat holds several industry certifications, including Designated Global Luxury Specialist. She is a member of Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and is a Certified Negotiation Expert. Her best year so far was 2024, when she sold two homes priced upwards of $3 million to $4 million that others in the brokerage community claimed were above market value.
“With dedication, preparation and marketing, I was able to get my sellers their price and terms that were acceptable,” she recalls. “Selling a home takes time and patience but with a good strategy, trust and skilled negotiations, it typically works out.”
