U.S. News & World Report ranks Massachusetts one of the top states in the country

Massachusetts is one of the top 10 best states in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best States Rankings.

The publication ranked each of the 50 states in 71 metrics across eight categories to determine how well each serves their residents when it comes to health care, education, economy, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime & corrections and natural environment.

Massachusetts ranked 10th in the nation on the list.

The Bay State took the No. 2 spot nationally for health care, ranked third for education, took the No. 4 spot for crime & corrections, seventh for natural environment and eighth for economy.

Massachusetts also ranked 39th in both infrastructure and fiscal stability and 46th for opportunity.

Utah was the No. 1 ranked state on the list, followed by New Hampshire in second place and Nebraska in third. Minnesota ranked No. 4 followed by Idaho rounding out the top five.
