One Massachusetts city has been named the second-best city to live in the U.S.
Cambridge took the No. 2 spot in Niche’s 2022 Best Cities to Live in America list, just below No. 1 ranked Woodland, Texas.
When developing its rankings, Niche considers factors like affordability, the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools and walkability.
Cambridge received an overall ranking of A+, with high rankings in all categories except housing, cost of living and crime and safety.
With a population of 116,632, the median value of a home in Cambridge is $768,300, compared to the national median home value of $217,500. The median rent is $2,221, compared to the national median of $1,062.
This isn’t the only Niche ranking win for Cambridge in 2022. It also ranked No. 1 on Niche’s list of Best Cities for Young Professionals in America and No. 2 for Best Suburbs for Young Professionals in America.
