What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job was in a start-up, high-rise luxury condominium development. I presold $30 million in one year!
Where did you grow up? Massachusetts.
Growing up, what did you want to be? I always dreamed of being a fashion buyer.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I like to work out because it keeps my mind out of the office. When you’re doing a physical activity, it keeps you focused on anything but work.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? It would have to be my favorite tennis player, Roger Federer.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? Most people like to hang out in their local coffee shop, but one of my favorite places is in a café in Paris, France.
What do you love most about the industry? I love the challenges that the industry provides, as well as the results and rewards for a job well done.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am a strong believer in persistence and followup. Those are the keys to my success.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I sell myself out of the job.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I find it extremely helpful to attend seminars and conferences; not only do you connect with other active leaders in the industry, you also stay current on market trends.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Reestablishing credibility and momentum to a development that other companies had tried to turn around without success. When I take on a challenge, I work 24/7 to rebuild the property and create a success story.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last good book I read was “Girl On The Train” by Paula Hawkins.
What is your favorite restaurant? L’Avenue in Paris, France.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? The Massachusetts State House on Beacon Hill off Beacon Street. You just can’t take your eyes off that beautiful gold leaf cupola!
What kind of car do you drive? My office on wheels is a BMW.
Smartphone or paper? Smartphone! I am always on my phone.
What is your favorite city after Boston? There may be a rivalry, but it is definitely New York.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Follow up on all prospects, never judge a book by its cover.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? I don’t have any one favorite app, but I do spend a lot of time on various social media profiles and real estate websites to better understand my clients and the market conditions that may drive their home-buying decisions. I also utilize the in-house marketing and social media specialists at Nickerson to share information and fully capitalize on every trend.
