Growing up, what did you want to be? As a child I wanted to become a teacher but that changed over time and I never pursued a teaching degree. Instead, I have been actively involved in various organizations over the past 16 years as a mentor.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Listen to music of all genres and in many languages. My music library consists of Frank Sinatra, Billy Holiday, Ellie Goulding, Eminem, Jay Z, Weezer, Arabic, Greek, Cuban music and much more.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? There isn’t anyone specifically which I would choose. I love to talk and listen to people’s story. If you have an interesting story to tell, I’d love to have lunch with you!
Where is your favorite place to hang out? My kitchen! I love to cook and try new foods. Although, anywhere I can find my favorite people with great conversation is great place to be.
What do you love most about the industry? One of my favorite parts is being able to see the homes themselves, especially those that need a little TLC, I like to visualize the potential each home has. Listening to a client explain how they vision the home excited me for them.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I work with a great team and have had the opportunity to learn from them all. I’d say the training we receive at McGeough Lamacchia Realty sets us apart from the others.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Keeping up with the real estate market and staying up to date with any changes and trends. Twitter is awesome, make sure to follow McGeough Lamacchia Realty @mlrealtyne!
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I love to talk and meet new people! The hair salon, restaurants, coffee shops and anywhere I go you will find me chatting with new people. Also, I love the Boston Calendar for all of the events happening each week in the city.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Becoming a mom! I can truly say I have been blessed to have a few accomplishments I am proud of. However, for me, being a mom and mastering (or trying to anyway) a schedule, which will benefit both my child and my family, has been the most challenging and rewarding moment of my adult life.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The book “Shantaram.” It will take you to India and you find yourself not able to stop turning the page.
What is your favorite restaurant? Too many too choose just one! Two favorites are Helmend on First Street, Cambridge an Afghani restaurant that will amaze your taste buds and Teranga a quaint Senagalese spot on Washington Street in the South end.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? I love brownstones, any of them. Especially those with the original wood work, molding and ceiling medallions.
What kind of car do you drive? A Honda CRV.
Smartphone or paper? How did we ever live without our smartphones?
What is your favorite city after Atlanta? I don’t have just one. Stateside, I would have to say San Francisco. Ana abroad, Rome, my second home.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t be afraid to ask questions and stay confident.
