Prices crept up steadily in the Massachusetts housing market during October while closed single-family home sales jumped, according to data from The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®.
Closings grew 5.6% year over year, with 3,921 single-family homes sold. The median price for these homes increased to $660,000, up 2.3% from last year.
For condos, closed sales saw a minor dip of 1.1%. The market experienced a median price hike of 2.8% to $549,900.
“Despite ongoing inventory challenges, we’re in the midst of transitioning into a new season and the housing market continues to show encouraging signs,” said Sarah Gustafson, 2025 president of MAR. “We encourage buyers to stay informed, remain confident in their search and to work closely with a trusted REALTOR to successfully navigate today’s competitive market. For sellers, now is a great time to put your property on the market as conditions remain strong and buyers are eager to secure homes before the end of the year.”
