The town of Westford approved plans for a multi-family residential project at 37 Powers Road. Featuring 530 rental units across five buildings, the development will also include two clubhouses and outdoor amenity areas.
Located on a former industrial parcel, the neighborhood will be themed around nature and wellness and will introduce over 180,000 square feet of native and adapted plantings and 380 new trees. Developer ZOM Living plans to designate 63% of the plot as open space — more than twice the amount required, according to a press release. Plans for the project also include a central green, bocce courts, community gardens and walking loops with potential connectors to local trails.
“From the beginning, our design team approached this site with the central idea of creating an active and vibrant core open space network as the framework for the placement of the residential buildings. The preservation and enhancement of the natural areas surrounding the redevelopment was a second equally important guiding principle,” said Ian Ramey, principal at Copley Wolff, a a landscape architecture firm involved in the project. “The landscape strategy is rooted in preservation and reconnection — restoring ecological balance, expanding public access and providing a restorative daily experience for residents.”
Construction is set to begin in 2026. A finalization date has not been set, but developers anticipate construction will continue through 2028 and beyond.
