Robert Earle Coppola, President/Broker, Earle Coppola Real Estate LLC

What was your first job in the real estate industry? Property management

Where did you grow up? Newton, MA

Growing up, what did you want to be? I’ve always wanted to do something in real estate. I come from a family of real estate brokers and investors and wanted to follow in their footsteps.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I usually like going to the gym to release stress.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Elvis ha ha. I’m a huge Elvis fan. Not just because of his music, I’ve just always admired his generosity and how he changed the world.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I’m a homebody, so I like being home but when I do go out, I always head to the North End in Boston.

What do you love most about the industry? I love the flexibility of it and how there’s no limits on how successful you can become.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? There are many things. I’ve been around real estate my whole life. I started out managing properties when I was 17 and then I went on to invest in real estate in my early 20s. By 30 years old I grew my business and started my own brokerage. I’m also my own person – I don’t use any sales pitches, and I’m not phony. I talk to my clients and business associates the same way I do my friends and family. I think that’s why a lot of people like dealing with me because they feel comfortable and they know I’m honest whether the situation is good or bad.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? There are a lot of difficult aspects of this business. It takes up a lot of time and can be stressful. You’re always on your feet to perform your best for your clients and to give the best service as possible and you want to make it stress free for your clients.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? My clientele is mostly referral based. Friends, family, friends of friends, family friends. I’ve always been huge on referral-based relationships.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? I would say starting my own brokerage. It was always a goal of mine. I’ve always wanted to brand myself and play by my own rules.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? This is a tough one hahaha let’s say “The Black Mass.”

What is your favorite restaurant? Another tough one! I’m a huge restaurant buff and there’s so many good restaurants around. I will go with the Stockyard in Brighton.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? International Place

What kind of car do you drive? I’m a huge car guy and car collector. I would say my current car, Corvette Grand Sport. I recently ordered the new Lincoln Aviator.

Smartphone or paper? Paper, I’m wicked old school haha. I still print and file my paperwork. You can’t beat hardcopies!

What is your favorite city after Boston? New York

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Be patient, it takes dedication and hard work to build your business.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Zillow … just kidding! I would say realtor.com.
